Caged

One thing I’ll never do in my life is keep caged birds. They might look cute, they might make you happy, but they’re not happy.

Will a bird taking off from an opened cage come back to it once its tired? It won’t. Because it is about to discover what home really is, and what freedom he was born with, who his friends are, who he should protect himself from, and how every part of his body makes perfect sense. He might hurt himself, or even be eaten by a wild beast, but that is all in harmony with nature, because that is how nature has designed him to be. Wild. Unprotected. Free.

Who are we humans to deprive them of that freedom?
